Join @thegrovemuseum at 2 PM this Saturday, May 11th, for a guided walking tour of the site, focusing on the intersection of nature, culture, and history.
In honor of the 20th of May—Emancipation in Florida, May’s program, led by John Grandage, Assistant Director for Historical Resources, will focus on historical landscapes tied to the history of slavery and freedom in the Red Hills Region. The program will also touch upon historical research that highlights how African Americans shaped the built and natural environment of Leon County in the nineteenth century.
This is an informal program and guests can join or leave the walk at any time. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to stand or walk for the majority of the tour.
Visit the museum before or after the walk to enjoy exhibits from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This program is free and open to the public. Parking for The Grove Museum is located at 902 N. Monroe St.

📢 Visitor Information Center Update Due to the temporary closure of Railroad Avenue between Gaines Street and FAMU Way, the Visitor Information Center located at 918 Railroad Avenue will not be accessible by the main entrance from May 6th through the end of June.
Visitors can use the service road behind Publix along Stone Valley Way from Gaines Street to get to the main entrance.
