Tallahassee Receives a Perfect Score on the Human Rights Campaign annual Municipal Equality Index
Home to two major universities, Tallahassee has a long history supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Over the years, the city has consistently rated high on the Human Rights Campaigns’ annual Municipal Equality Index – a standard of LGBTQ+ inclusiveness for cities. In 2021, the city received a 100 score and an ‘A’ ranking. The score particularly looks at city government’s efforts to minimize discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community in the distribution or availability of city services and programs.
