Located on gorgeous Lake Jackson, this 45-acre park provides a variety of recreational opportunities, including a 1-mile long trail that takes visitors on a journey through a portion of Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park. Along this nature trail, visitors will see Tallahassee’s iconic, towering live oak trees and beautiful native foliage and wildlife.
The Archaeological Park includes four earthen temple mounds, two of which are available for public viewing. Visitors of Jackson View Trail will have the opportunity to explore the interpretive trail, which passes by remnants of Florida’s Territorial Period. This is the perfect place to bring your family, as there is a wonderful playground, observation pier and picnic pavilion.
Featured Uses: Hiking, walking/running, biking, nature viewing, bird watching, and picnicking. Dogs are not permitted.
