The Ultimate FAMU Homecoming Experience

Since 1887, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University has been a cornerstone of Tallahassee. Every year, the city turns green and orange as Rattlers from across the nation flock to Tallahassee to celebrate Homecoming.  Last year, FAMU celebrated 123 years of excellence. Homecoming remains a tradition that unites Rattlers young and old for the ultimate experience. The celebrations last the entire week, with a variety of events for Rattlers and FAMU fans of all ages.

Tallahassee becomes the backdrop of it all. From the NPHC Step Show to the Marching 100 Showcase, FAMU Homecoming is a time to celebrate with close friends and family. FAMU’s finest come together to put on a series of events guaranteed to bring you a good time. Here are a few of the activities you can look forward to your next trip to the Hill.

Coronation of Mister and Miss FAMU

Witness the Royal Court be crowned at the Mister and Miss Florida A&M University Coronation. This event kicks of the Homecoming week festivities for students, alumni, and friends of FAMU. This is an historic tradition among historically black colleges and universities.

Comedy Show

The annual comedy show brings out the funniest names in stand-up. Past performers include Wild n’ Out stars Chico Bean and Karlous Miller, LaVell Crawford, Lav Luv, and DC Young Fly. Have a great time at the annual comedy show!

National Pan-Hellenic Greek Step Show

The Divine 9 Greek organizations come together to stomp it out and prove who runs the yard. NPHC steps out in their best to put on a showstopping performance every year. Each organization puts their precision, coordination, and unity to the test as they battle on the stage.

Homecoming Hip Hop Concert

Hip hop lovers across the Hill come out to see the latest chart-topping artists take the stage. You’ll want to arrive early to get a good seat at the Homecoming Hip Hop Concert! Past acts like 2 Chainz, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, and Gucci Mane have lit up the stage, and next year will be no different. The biggest names in rap make their way to FAMU for this incredible event.

Block Party

There’s no party like a FAMU Block Party! Celebrate FAMU’s birthday at the annual Black Party and Fireworks Display. The event kicks off at 11pm before the fireworks start at midnight. Attendees can look forward to food, music, and of course the electric slide. Wear your finest green and gold to show your FAMU pride.  This is the celebration that unites everyone together through their love of FAMU.

Marching 100 Showcase

The world famous Marching 100 has performed at the Super Bowl, Summer Olympics, and the inaugurations of two US Presidents. There is nothing like the sound of the Marching 100! Their showcase is a highlight of Homecoming week for everyone who loves FAMU.

Homecoming Parade

Saturday morning starts bright and early with the Homecoming Parade! Line up along FAMU Way to get a glimpse of the Marching 100, Strikers Dance Troupe, and the Royal Court. This is the perfect way to get excited for the Homecoming game that afternoon. Get your fangs out and ready to strike, strike, and strike again!

Gospel Concert

The Gospel Concert closes out the week and brings out the best voices in worship. Last year’s headlining acts included Donald Lawrence, Keke Wyatt, Kierra Sheard, and Sir the Baptist. FAMU comes together to praise and celebrate years of fellowship for an unforgettable show.
