FSU Faculty Soloists Marcy Stonikas, soprano, and André Chiang, baritone. Immerse yourself in the majesty and mystery of the ocean with two British masterpieces celebrating our eternal relationship with the sea. Ralph Vaughan Williams’ monumental A Sea Symphony combines Walt Whitman’s transcendent poetry with sweeping orchestral and choral forces, while Charles V. Stanford’s Songs of the Sea offers intimate portraits of maritime life. Distinguished FSU faculty soloists Marcy Stonikas and André Chiang will bring their artistry to these evocative works that capture everything from gentle tidal rhythms to the sea’s awesome power. Let these timeless compositions transport you to the endless horizon where sea meets sky.
