850-643-2282

Located in the Apalachicola National Forest, the Langston House Interpretive Trail features an old farm homestead, The Langston House, which serves as an important example of Florida’s vernacular architecture. The house was built around 1904 and is still displayed in its original setting.

The interpretative nature trail is accessed through the Florida National Scenic Trail entrance. Visitors should follow the short blue-blazed nature trail that leads to the Langston House. Alternatively, visitors can follow the orange-blazed markers that denote the Florida’s National Scenic Trail, which will take visitors on a relaxing day-hike along ravines and the floodplain of the Ochlokonee River basin.

Featured Uses: Hiking, walking/running and nature viewing. Leashed pets are permitted.

Access: From Tallahassee, take SR 20 west, then left onto SR 375 heading south. Approximately 2 miles south of the intersection with Forest Highway 13, turn right at the sign for the Florida National Scenic Trail and park at the trailhead. A short blue-blazed trail will take you to the house.

Amenities: Langston House, parking and restrooms.
