Lake Elberta Trail
594 N Lake Bradford RdTallahassee FL 32304
Lake Elberta Trail is a .7-mile long multi-use trail with both paved and dirt surfaces. Lake Elberta Park is located near Florida State University at 823 Lake Bradford Road, with a parking area at the intersection of Daniel Street and Lake Bradford Road. The parking area is small, with room for maybe seven cars. There is a drinking fountain, bottle filler and shower on site. There are two small picnic pavilions next to the parking area, but the jewel of the park facilities is the Lake Elberta Park Trail.
The trail makes a complete circuit around the lake, and consists of two ten-foot wide “lanes.” The inner “lane” is a ten-foot wide asphalt strip, while the outer “lane” is a ten-foot wide dirt path. The entire trail gives you a view of the lake and the bird life it hosts– American egrets, mallards, turkey vultures, herring gulls, red-winged blackbirds, American coots, and several other species.
Featured Uses: Running, marathon running, biking, walking, and canoeing. Leashed dogs are permitted.
