Located off Alligator Drive, just north of Tucker Lake, you can enjoy the scenic nature views and marvel at indigenous animal species as you paddle down Chaires Creek. This narrow water passageway leading into Tucker Lake is also part of Bald Point State Park in Wakulla County. The water trail is approximately 3.7 miles long and would take up to two hours to complete. Entering Chaires Creek during high tide is highly recommended in order to avoid getting stuck in the mud. Chaires Creek Paddle Creek is recommended for intermediate level paddlers and up, and beginners are encouraged to launch and paddle around the more secure and protected areas of Tucker Lake.
Featured Uses: Canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and boating. Dogs are not permitted.
Access: Begin at Ochlockonee Bay Boat Ramp in Franklin County.
