Bass Pro Shops was founded in 1972 by avid young angler Johnny Morris on eight-square-feet of space in the back of his father's liquor store in Springfield, Missouri. Today, the leading national retailer of outdoor gear and apparel has 200 retail and marine center locations across North America.
Johnny's passion for the outdoors and his feel for the products and shopping experiences desired by outdoor enthusiasts transformed the industry. Celebrate Earth Day by visiting the enchanting Live Oak at Lichgate! 🌳 Its vast canopy has watched over Tallahassee for centuries, providing shade and solace to those who visit.
Built by FSU English professor Laura Jepsen and named for the gates of medieval England, Lichgate Cottage is reminiscent of the fairytale cottages of childhood stories. The grounds include butterfly, perennial, and daffodil gardens, a labyrinth, and a magnificent Live Oak tree dating back to the days of Shakespeare.
