Learn MorePhotographer Stan J. Johnson presents two photo exhibitions at the Florida A&M University Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery this spring 2025, “Beautiful, I Am!” and “Naked Emotions Exposed.”
“Beautiful, I Am!” is a photography project that celebrates the self-esteem and beauty of Black individuals. Through striking portraits and personal stories, it challenges societal perceptions and promotes self-acceptance, encouraging a positive dialogue about mental health within the Black community.
“Naked Emotions Exposed” encourages viewers to engage with and understand the complexities of Black mental health through a lens of empathy and authenticity.
There will be a public reception held Thursday, January 16th, from 5 – 7 PM for both exhibitions. During the opening reception, guests will have the opportunity to purchase and have their “Beautiful, I Am” book signed by featured artist, Stan J. Johnson.
The exhibitions will be on view from January 16 – April 25 at the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the gallery at fostertannergallery@famu.edu
