ABFH is a local group of volunteers who support the needs of homeless children living at the Big Bend Homeless Coalition’s Hope Community. Ordinarily, this time of year, they would be offering their beautiful handcrafted creations at craft events, which is not possible due to the pandemic.
Have no fear, the wonderful women at ABFH are scheduling shopping appointments at their Studio, at Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 3158 Shamrock Street, South, from 1 – 3 p.m. on the dates listed below. Only 2 people will be scheduled for each 20-minute segment. Masks will be required.

Tuesday, Nov. 17
Black Friday, Nov. 27
Tuesday, Dec. 1
Thursday, Dec. 10
Tuesday, Dec. 15

For over a decade, the number of ABFH volunteers has grown to about 40 and fabric donations come in almost on a weekly basis. Members, prior to the pandemic, met each week at their “Studio” to organize and store their products in a large room donated by Fellowship Presbyterian Church. This joint community effort makes donations of net proceeds to the HOPE Community possible.

Last year BBHC served over 1200 homeless persons; 500 plus of these persons received emergency shelter at HOPE. The Big Bend Homeless Coalition specializes in preventing and ending family, Veteran, and chronic homelessness, and recidivism. We provide shelter, housing, and the motivation to stay housed via community services coordination to assist with education, employment, health, and independence goals.
