Attend the Fluid Impressions Art Exhibition!

The Ringling College Galleries + Exhibitions are pleased to present the upcoming student-led exhibition, Fluid Impressions: The Paintings of Syd Solomon; an immersive collection featuring expressive, storytelling paintings from abstract impressionist, Syd Solomon.

Fluid Impressions: The Paintings of Syd Solomon is an exhibition paying tribute to the influential artist, Sarasota-based artist, Syd Solomon. Solomon’s paintings capture the essence of natural elements shaped by his surroundings within nature and his time served in World War ll. He played a pivotal role in the local Sarasota art community, founding the Institute of Fine Art at New College and as the first contemporary artist to have their work acquired by the Ringling Museum. The exhibition, organized by select students of Ringling College of Art and Design, aims to connect Syd Solomon’s history and impact on the Sarasota community while preserving his legendary work within the art world in a technological, contemporary context.

Fluid Impressions was made possible by the generous loan of three dozen paintings from the private collection of Dr. Richard and Pamela Mones.
