Gadsden Arts launches Artists Guild program
Quincy, FL – On July 1, the Gadsden Arts Center (GAC) will launch a program that celebrates and honors our past. Twenty years ago this November, the annual Art in Gadsden juried fine art exhibition was founded to foster the careers of regional artists and bring fine art to Gadsden County. A new GAC Artists Guild program will be offered in celebration of this tradition that became the Gadsden Arts Center (GAC), a beautiful gallery, learning and gathering space that brings communities together and fine art exhibitions to the region.
The GAC Artists Guild is a service organization that will promote and exhibit member-artists’ works and provide quarterly educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and a GAC Family Membership to members. The Guild program will fuel changing exhibitions of emerging to established artists works at Gadsden Arts year round, and support the new Artists in the Schools program that will serve Gadsden County school children this year.
Interested artists are encouraged to apply, as Guild membership is limited to 100 members. For more information and to download the application, log onto http://www.gadsdenarts.org/ArtistsGuild.html. The first GAC Artists Guild exhibition will be October 10 – November 2, 2008 in the Bates Community Room Gallery.
The Gadsden Arts Center is open to the public from 10 am – 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm – 5 pm. Admission is free for Center members and children, $1 donation for non-members. Please call (850) 875-4866 or visit www.gadsdenarts.org for more information about the Gadsden Arts Center.
