Here, meetings make history. In 1539, Hernando De Soto chose Tallahassee as the ideal location to celebrate the first Christmas in America. In 1824, Florida’s Governor Duval gave his staff one command "find me the perfect location to meet." They did, Duval’s explorers chose Tallahassee as the state capitol for the beautiful southern terrain and central location between St. Augustine and Pensacola.

From gridiron getdowns to political power plays and corporate confabs to organizational outings, when people meet in Tallahassee, big things happen. Business or pleasure, Tallahassee has a host of unique venues to make your meeting or event a brilliant success. The Tallahassee Area Convention and Visitor Bureau (TACVB) is here to meet your every need.

Pre-Convention Planning
The success of your meeting depends solely on your pre-planning. With our extensive knowledge of the Capitol City, our Meetings and Conventions Sales staff is here to assist you with all your meeting details. We will contact lodging properties and meeting or reception sites, prepare and send out sales leads for your meeting and coordinate site inspections. Our sales staff can also provide sample itineraries on a variety of entertainment options for your guests or their travel companions. Together we can create a meeting plan just for you.

Lodging
The entire Sales Team has long-standing relationships with Tallahassee hotels and meeting venues. Our team will reduce the time-consuming work for you and will gladly send out leads or RFP’s to each qualifying property. We can assist with over-flow hotel availability and with city-wide event planning. In addition, we have a toll-free hotel hotline listing vacancies during special events or other sold-out dates.

Welcome Bags
We offer complimentary welcome bags for your attendees. The general rule is one bag per room night plus ten bags per group. Accompanying the bags, we offer Tallahassee area information and brochures and also include a few souvenirs for your guests to take with them. Additional souvenirs and bags can be purchased thru our Gift Shop in the Visitor Information Center located at 106 East Jefferson Street.

Brochures
The TACVB will gladly provide your delegates with visitor guides, downtown locator maps, and various brochures, all thoughtfully selected based on your groups needs and interests. The Visitor Guide contains a complete list of attractions, restaurants, entertainment options and general information about the city. Browse the calendar of events on our website, www.VisitTallahassee.com, to keep you informed of our city’s activities.

Guest Activities & Tours
The TACVB offers a wide variety of entertainment for your accompanying guests. Our sales team can help you plan scheduled activities by providing customized itineraries and even arrange visits to local attractions. The Tallahassee Visitor Information Center is a great place to start. Located in the heart of downtown, and across the street from the Capitol Complex, here you can embark on a great walking tour of Tallahassee’s history, enjoying many educational and historical (as well as beautiful) attractions along the way.

Media
The TACVB will be happy to spread the word about your event or meeting. Assistance with press releases, e-blasts or newsletters is just a phone call away. The TACVB will also provide you with a variety of high resolution digital color images for invitations, newsletters, conference brochures or other needs.
