Ochlockonee River
The Ochlockonee River originates south of Sylvester, Georgia and flows 300 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. It forms a natural boundary between Leon and Gadsden County and between Wakulla and Franklin County. This river got its name from its color. The rich yellows and reds of clay soil in Georgia give the river its yellow color. The river has two designated canoe trails. The upper trail is 26 miles long and is located above Lake Talquin starting at the bridge on State Road 12. The lower trail is 65 miles long and is located below Lake Talquin starting at the bridge on State Road 20.
