St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge – Panacea Unit

Otter Lake
Otter Lake is located in Wakulla County in Panacea.  This recreational area provides picnic tables, restrooms, and a boat ramp.  The Florida National Scenic Trail crosses here and provides 6.5 miles to explore.  The Ochlockonee River State Park, the Bald Point State Park, and the Apalachicola National Forest are near by.

Recreational Activities: fishing, hiking, paddling

Directions from I-10:
Take exit 196 and head toward the Tallahassee Regional Airport on Capital Circle.  Continue on Capital Circle to Crawfordville Highway, US Highway 319.  Turn right on US Highway 319.  Go approximately 14 miles to Medart.  US Highway 319 will divide from US Highway 98, continue going straight on US Highway 98 for approximately 5 miles.  Turn right on Otter Lake Road, State Road 372A.  Continue on this road for a mile and turn left.  The recreational area will be about a mile down the road.
