Friday:

NAACP/Leon County Schools awards breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Civic Center. Speaker: Schools Superintendent Jackie Pons. Tickets are $15 per person, call 224-0697 for reservations.


Saturday:

NAACP Youth Leadership Seminar, 9 a.m. to noon at the Jake Gaither Community Center, 801 Tanner Drive. Pre-register no later than Thursday with Anita Davis, 574-3075, or Cassandra Wilson, 309-1649.

Panel on gang activity to follow at the center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Vera McIntyre moderating.

In Quincy: MLK candlelight vigil, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Gadsden County Courthouse Square

In Monticello: MLK commemorative services, Memorial M.B. Church, 3 p.m. Speaker: Rev. Helen Johnson-Robinson and Bethel AME Church.


Monday:

Citywide NAACP march and rally, assembling at C.K. Steele Plaza at 9:30 a.m. Program begins at 10 a.m. MLK rally at the Capitol, 11 a.m.

Minority Alliance for Advocating Community Awareness and Action, Inc. roundtable on race relations, HIV/AIDS and abstinence. From 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Progressive Center, 1720 S. City of Tallahassee's Day of Dialogue, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at City Hall

In Havana: Parade at 10 a.m., starting at the Havana Municipal Building. Ceremony at 10:30 a.m., Palace A.M.E. Church. Speaker: Rev. A. Jackson, pastor. Proceeds go to MLK scholarship fund.

In Monticello: Downtown parade at 10 a.m., followed by celebration at Jefferson County Recreational Park.
